I don’t do a lot of Holiday Decorating other than Christmas. I do more seasonal. Well….basically three seasons. Winter and Spring. Ooops! That’s two! LOL! I was thinking Summer but I let Spring last as long as possible ! I Especially try to avoid Easter. “Shush Yo Mouth!” (I heard you say to yourself In true southern style !) So when I get an idea for Easter Decorating, It must be pretty darn cute and hopefully unique like my “Victorian Chic Easter Bunny Finial” or This “Easter Bunny Plate Cake Stand.”
Before you think I‘m some cold heartless Ice Queen, let me explain. It’s very simple….I adore Bunnies. I absolutely LOVE the cute, fluffy, adorable, precious………..whoa! brrrrrt !…. Whew! I had to shake myself back to reality there! I was falling down the rabbit hole! You see, as a former Bunny addict, It is hard to buy just one! When I was first married my house looked like a Hallmark Store at Easter. I had bunnies of all sizes, shapes….anything bunny and anything pink! My taste matured and became more sophisticated ….and bunny-less! But that is why I have to tell myself no! …no!….no bunnies. They’re like potato chips…I can’t buy just one! Enough of that! Let’s get on with the Tutorial ! This is easy!
Easter Bunny Plate Stand Tutorial !
“The Players”
What you are going to need for this project is any ceramic bunny, or a chick ….or it could be any figurine you like. Where bunnies are concerned the ears can’t be straight up. They have to be low enough that you can place a plate level on his head. My Bunny has a little apse on top but that is okay because it’s pretty dead center. I can position the “O” Ring on it perfectly. For those of you not familiar with “O” rings, they are a plumbing “gasket”. They are round across as well as in circumference. It’s this little “doo dad” that is going to give us enough surface space to attach the plate to the figure as well as to make it level.
I forgot to include this handy item in the pic of “the Players”. It is most important and my fave glue. Loctite Go2 Gel. It’s a Gel, you see and it stays exactly where you place it. No running and nothing slides off of it that is placed on it so it works so well for crafts. It sets quickly and firmly. No, I am not being paid to say this and this is NOT a sponsored post. I really love this glue. You will too! I am affiliated with Amazon though and you can buy it on the link below! Back to The Bunny Plate !
You can see in the pic above that I first decided where I was going to place the “O” ring on his head and marked it by placed a small dot with a sharpie on each of the four sides, applied my glue to the “O” ring and placed it back inside the four dots on his wee head. I let that sit for a couple hours, not because it took that long to set but because I had to feed the sheppies and the hubby!
A View Of The Top!
A side view of the Bunny head and where I placed the “O” Ring. You can see the awesome thick Loctite Go2 Gel Staying exactly where I placed it AND the “O” Ring as well. It stays thick ! No running and no sliding off of the “O” Ring.
About The “O” Ring
The “O” Ring you see me using here is black. White of course would have been the best but my local stores did not carry any in white and I did not have time to order them on Amazon but there is a link below if you need to buy the white ones. These are found in the Plumbing department. I bought an assortment size pack for .92 cents. Assortments are good because each figurine will need to be fitted for the best size “O” ring for their surface shape.
After feeding the natives, I came back and glued the top of the “O” ring. This is where this glue really rocks! It stays on top of the rounded gasket whereas most glues would slide off and/or run down the sweet bunnies face.
So now I am ready to place the plate on top. It would have been simpler to use a round plate but I saw this little cutie at the grocery store and loved it! I marked the center of the bottom of the plate. This would have been enough had it been a round plate but because my plate was oval it was not center balanced. I used the center as a guide and moved my plate around only slightly till it balanced nicely on the “O” ring attached to bun bun’s head. I left it to set over night.
The Finished Project !
I awoke to this precious little Bunny Plate Cake Stand and I adore it! (uh oh ! Feeling the urge to buy more Bunnies! ) This is so dangerous for me!
Confessions Of A Recovering Bunny-Addict
Okay so to tell the truth….after I finished this little gem, I had a dentist appointment in a neighboring town. They have a really nice thrift store there and I need things for a thrift store challenge, so I stopped by to see what they had. I found this lil Bun Bun and thought he would be perfect for a plate stand as well. But it does not stop there I’m afraid…..
When I was at Pier One I found this little cutie pie and could not resist! So you see, It is a compulsion that I have with Bunnies, No, more like an illness…..I think It’s time for an Intervention….(Happens every year!) LOL!
The “Easter Bunny Plate Cake Stand”
The cost breakdown on this is ; $4.99 For the Plate and $3.99 for the Bunny. .92 cents for 20 “O” Rings. That’s it. I had The Glue. so $ 9.77 including tax! Cha Ching! #FrugalFabFind!
Awe…….Isn’t that cute??? I hope you found this inspiring and useful! Make your own and shoot me a pic! I would love to see how you create your own Bunny Plate or Chick Plate…or whatever your imagination creates now that you know how to combine two porcelain items !
See ya soon !

So cute. Love the bunny ceramic plate than the bunny itself. May be bcoz of the color? No idea. All in all, a cute project! #HomeMattersParty
I love your Easter Bunny plate stand! I keep a regular bunny watch on our thrift stores, but have yet to make a find. I will definitely have to watch for the bunnies with their ears in the right place so I can make one of these. It would look so perfect on the Easter table. #HomeMattersParty
Nicole,
I am amazed you have a hard time finding bunnies! I find them all the time! Maybe I attract them like a field of carrots!? LOL!

This is darling! Someday I want to be able to have more fun seasonal and holiday things like this. For so long I haven’t had any place to store things in the off seasons. I’m going to be on the lookout for a good bunny, that is, if there are any left in any thrift store in the nation, lol! #HomeMattersParty
Emily,
You can use any Easter animal as long as you can level a plate on his head! I have found that they are the same price at Marshall’s and Ross as they are the thrift stores….at least here in Texas! Good luck on your Hunt!
