Princess Theme Birthday Party !
It’s my Birthday! It’s My Birthday! It’s My Birthday!
(Imagine me doing the Dougie Dance here!)
That’s what Sophie and Bella are singing in their heads!
Here it is already their fourth Birthday! Time flies as all you parents know!
I can not let my fur babies Birthdays pass without acknowledging them! I have always celebrated all their Birthdays somehow. Always with A cute hat and a cake of some type.
This particular Birthday we celebrated with Brisket for Dinner (raw for the Birthday girls because they are on a Raw Diet)
and Brisket Tacos in the Crockpot with Charro beans and Spanish Rice for the Human Guests!
Of course there is Cake for dessert!
A few years ago I found this box mix cake specially formulated for K-9’s ! It came with a super cute bone shaped teflon cake pan! Reusable! It’s as good a cake pan as I have ever had!
Now I just buy the mixes and re-use the pan! This particular mix is also wheat free. Because My dogs are grain free. This year we had Peanut Butter Cake with Vanilla Frosting. mmmmmmmm!
The cake looks sort of pink because I wanted to write their names on the cake. I had some cookie frostings in the squeeze tubes. You know the ones! They are for people but I thought the little bit of sugar in them would not harm the girls. After I put their names on the cake I read the label on the frosting and saw it had Propylene Glycol in it! Propylene Glycol! Yes, that’s what I was thinking too! That’s the poisonous chemical in antifreeze ! I was aghast! This is Frosting people eat and feed to their kids!
NOT my Kids!
Well, I scraped the writing off the cake immediately and threw away the icing!
Hence the funny color. It really was a pretty cake before……….oh well!
Sophie and Bella still liked it!
We decorated the house with paw print and pink balloons, a pink table and even a “Princess” center piece! Everyone had Birthday hats although not everyone wore them!
(should be mandatory ! Right?)
We sent some pup- cake home with Bob and Shawn to give to their Pooh Bear. She’s the cutest little Lhasa Apso Maltese mix you ever saw! She did not come to the party. It would have been a melee. You see small dogs think their bad a**. They bark and growl at big dogs. Then the big dogs get mad.
Whoop! There it is!!!!
Bella and Pooh Bear do play chase along the fence though. Bella will sit out and peek through the fence waiting for her friend Pooh to come out and play tag.
Sophie and Bellas Auntie Lynn brought them some fresh chicken breasts as a birthday gift! Bella, who can be a finicky eater, loves fresh chicken breast and auntie knows it! Auntie Lynn LOVES Sophie and Bella ! That’s why she is their God Mother.
( hey! They need God Mothers too!)
The Birthday girls know that there is Brisket coming! (The nose knows!) See how good they are?!
Sophie and Bella are really enjoying their Birthday Dinner. Fresh cut up Brisket! Usually it is ground beef or chicken that we get from a special Raw dog food supplier. NO ! it really is not that expensive! Less than that Dog food that your vet tries to pass off as the “healthy stuff”. It’s also less per pound than ground beef so…….
Sophie to Bella; “is that for us” ?
Bella to Sophie; “If our hoomans look away, grab it and run” !
Sophie and Bella; “Oh snap”! This is for us!
After an exciting evening of friends, presents, Brisket, and Pup-cake ,
after all the clean up was finished, I enter the bedroom to find Sophie and Bella, tired out from all the birthday excitement, already in bed waiting for me.
Such good girls!
