Welcome back to the 12 day’s Of Christmas Blog Hop! Today Is “The 2nd Day Of Christmas” and we have for you a yummy “Treat” based on our favorite Holiday Movie! My Favorite Holiday Movie is “How The Grinch Stole Christmas!” I have created, for you, “Grinch Cream Puffs”! Because the Grinch was really a Cream Puff inside after all….
Not Jim Carry’s version but the original 1966 Boris Karloff Version. It’s over 50 years old now and for me, also a fan of “Horton Hears A Who”, The only one worth watching!
Below is a list of my collaborators on this Hop. Shoot down and see my How-To for “Grinch Cream Puffs” and below that is the Linky with all their “2nd Day Of Christmas” Movie Theme Treats.
Welcome to the third annual 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop!
Stop by every day from December first through the twelfth for new ideas you can use to make your season brighter!
Meet Your Hosts
They have all been busy as Elves creating, decorating, cooking and crafting tons of new ideas for you to try this holiday season!
I got the idea from a treat my mom used to get for us when we were kids. The bakery at our grocer had these confections called “Frogs”. They were large Cream filled pastries covered in green ! They looked like Frogs and I loved them!
Grinch Cream Puffs
Above you can see the few ingredients it takes to make these. mini frozen Cream Puffs, bright green chocolate melts, tube icing, cupcake shells and some cupcake toppers. If you are good at icing design at all you could draw on a face but I am a DIY, Decor blogger, not a Pastry Chef so…..Forgive my rough execution of the “Grinch Cream Puffs”!
The cupcake toppers that I used for the hand, head and sign came from an Etsy shop. I assumed that since they were coming from the same maker that they would be anatomically alike…size wise. They are not but cute just the same. These are a little rough around the edges to look at but so was “The Grinch”. This is the perfect project for the kids to do!
Start by defrosting your cream puffs. You’ll need 2 per “Grinch Cream Puff”.
place one bag of the green chocolate melts in a double boiler, a melter or a bowl in the microwave. A one pound bag of melts should easily make 12 “Grinch Cream Puffs”.
While that is heating , place your cooling rack on some parchment to catch excess melted chocolate.
Stir the melts until creamy. I really wanted them thin enough to pour on the “Grinch Cream Puffs” because they look smoother that way but I could not get the chocolate thin enough so I dipped!
Drop them in the melted chocolate one by one and roll them around till covered.
Then remove them to the cooling rack.
Then place the rack in the fridge to cool.
When they are cool, place half of them on to a cupcake wrapper.
Place a dollop of the still warm melted chocolate on top of each single cream puff.
You now have your Grinch Body.
Draw A red heart on the Grinches cream puff chest because one day……….It grew 3 sizes they say……..
Now all you do to your little half “who” is add a head and a sign in red…….
Okay, Okay, I know that’s enough…Let me introduce my
“Grinch Cream Puff”
