What is it about Fall that makes us want to make everything warm and inviting? Is it more than just the cool crisp, wispy air? The leaves turning Amber, Orange and Yellow ? Our instinct to prepare for Fall hibernation and wanting our nest to be as cozy and comfy as possible? Our nesting instincts kick in more than ever in the Fall. We add warmth with crackling firelight and flickering candles, soften our surroundings with velvety pillows and fluffy throws and stockpile our refrigerators with comforting and warming Homemade soups and savory jars of fruit butter, spiced pies and heavy liquors. We also gather our friends and family together (as if instinctively knowing there is warmth in numbers) to share this bounty. On our Fall Home Tour we share how we dress our nests for the Fall Season with you. I’ll start by saying;
My front door decor is not ostentatious or showy but it does state exactly how I want you to feel when you walk in the door! Welcome!
I love that my friends walk in, grab a glass and help themselves to the wine! (one friend is always foraging for dark chocolate, so I always try to have some on hand and easy to find!) There is nothing more gratifying than knowing your friends are comfortable enough to make themselves at home. There is very little pretense in our home. We want all to be comfortable and relaxed!

Fall Decor & Entertaining Home Tour
Flickering candles and a glowing Owl adds visual interest to the motif.
I love adding warm fall colors such as Burgundy and warm white to my otherwise cool tones.
Here I used deep Burgundy and white whites. In the evening the Pumpkins will be glowing. Creating a soothing and relaxing visual show.
I placed ceramic LED Pumpkins on wood pedestals and tied deep Burgundy Sunflowers to them to create large pieces for the hearth.
A simple basket with white Sunflowers fills an empty void in the fireplace.
Adding many types of elements such as the feathers to the florals, layering color and pattern.. all creates depth and interest to my sofa table display. Velvety textures combined perfectly with sleek candles and gold metal.
For the base of the sofa table design, I simply added texture and created interest by layering extra Burgundy placemats and plaid napkins.
Nothing adds warmth to Decor like fuzzy faux fur throws and velvety pillows.
Fall Home Tour Dining
Nothing says Fall like rich deep colors found in nature such as the deep Burgundy of Pomegranates with a touch of Green like in my simple yet inviting tablescape.
I really love adding little woodland creatures to my Decor . By adding these Stag and Fox salad plates I have managed to add a bit of whimsy.
Velvety, shimmery Dahlias hold my napkins and cutlery. The natural Copper tones of the Dahlias tie the Earth tones and jewel tones together nicely.
White is always right in Decor. Like these sweet white ceramic Bird salt & pepper shakers that were a gift from my friend Shawn.
I really enjoy having friends and neighbors over for cocktails. A must for Cocktail Parties are Horse De’Oeuvres. I will set out small sliced hams as well as Summer Sausage and Little Smokies for meats. A favorite is also Sweet & Sour Meatballs. The most popular Appetizer with my guests is this Goat Cheese and Fig Jam plate shown below, which I serve with butter crackers. You can get the recipe HERE
A fantastic, rich, creamy, warm from the oven Crème Brûlée is a perfect end to a Fall Dinner Party.
Whether It’s Dinner or Cocktails and Appetizers, placing bowls of nuts, like these Glazed Pecans, around for your guests to snack on with their favorite libation is always appreciated.
A Parting Gift for your Guests
A lovely ending to a lovely evening is gifting each guest with a little treat. Whether it’s a bag of fresh Glazed Pecans tied with ribbon or a lovely Seasonal Scented Candle. I would love to gift you with some free frameable Fall Printables. Such as this lovely sample below.
