Welcome to the Celebrating Fall Blog Hop. I am always excited to see Fall coming in! Summer heat can become so tiring and make us weary. Fall’s cool weather is so invigorating! Decorating for Fall is always new and exciting! Such a nice change from the brighter colors of summer. I’m always looking forward to cozying up on the couch with a soft throw and a hot cup of Tea…or a Toddy!
First, let me Welcome you all to the;
Fall Blog Hop
Come on in, grab a glass of whatever warms you, get comfy and enjoy the Fall Blog Hop!
The first thing you will notice as you enter my home is the fireplace off to your right. I love adding warm fall colors such as Burgundy and warm white to my otherwise cool tones.
My theory about decor is “less is more” but layering Fall Foliage, Winter Florals and Glowing Candles creates a Cornucopia of warmth and interest.
I try to add as many textures as possible such as the smooth ceramic Pumpkins, Ridged glass gourds, reedy winter berries and silky ruffled flowers. The ceramic Pumpkins are a double win as they bring a warm message as well as color and texture to my display.
These pillows were a serendipitous find! They match my wall color! That never happens!
Velvety pillows and a faux fur throw gives my usually cold white leather sofa a snugglability (that’s a word…right!?) that is so comforting in the winter months.
On my sofa table I have an urn style footed vase filled with deep burgundy and Aubergine florals. I would add much more Aubergine if I could find it! Do you see the Pomegranate? I love to use them in Fall decor!
On either side of my Urn Vase I placed a gold lantern and a lovely velvety Dahlia surrounded by a few baby pinecones. The Dahlias are extra napkin rings from my table setting. I use what I have. It works for me.
A short few steps to the left will find you gazing into my dining area. The most “finished” room of my 1959 brick Ranch Style Home. The deep Burgundy’s and Coppers in solids and rich Plaids on the Table linens accentuate my deep Ocean Blues nicely.
A simply dressed Table but richly accented none the less.
I am not one who likes Kitsch but I love animals and adding animals to your decor correctly brings a fabulously whimsy aesthetic without being Kitschy. I love my Stag and Fox Salad/ Dessert Plates !
The warm Copper color of this Napkin Ring blends perfectly with my stags antlers and the shimmery, velvety texture adds depth and richness. We “re-styled” this entire Dining Room for last Octobers “One Room Challenge” where I was a Guest Participant. You can see the entire room and the post on that HERE .
Since I am still working on all the other rooms in this home, that ends the Fall Blog Hop Tour of my home. I hope you enjoyed it ! Thank you for coming to our Celebration of Fall! Refill that Toddy , snuggle in and continue on the Tour. The other Beautiful Homes are linked below! I hope to see you again soon!
