I don’t know about you but I really love Agates and Geodes. I love the rich jewel tones and the sparkly crystals. Geodes and Agates are also very on trend for home decor but they can be very expensive. I’m all about the high end but not the high price! I had a little idea here, nothing difficult, to create an inexpensive Agate Slice Plate Stand.
Agate Slice Plate Stand Tutorial
Here we have a small metal plate stand that can either be bought at Michaels or Hobby Lobby for about $1.99. They come in several sizes to accommodate any plate or size of Agate Slice.
I have my favorite Loctite Glue (this stuff is Fabulous and no, they are not paying me to say that!) There is an Amazon link below the post where you can purchase it. I really love it and use it for everything!
You’ll need An Agate Slice. Any size you like but make sure the plate and stand you are using do not overpower it. large stand requires a large Agate or even several can be used!
That’s about it! 1) Agate slice, 2) Plate Stand, 3) Glue!
Apply the Loctite Glue along the front edge of the stand that is facing out. Don’t worry, it is really thick and rarely runs. You won’t need to use much!
Lay the Agate Slice with your favorite side down – flat on a surface that will not be harmed if a bit of glue gets on it. Then lay the front of the stand with the glue on it flat against the back of the Agate slice and prop it against something that will not allow it to slide off (see my balancing act below). Let dry and ……..
